Where's the gravy?

In a bowl sift the following:

4 level teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons shortening
1 cup flour

Mix well, then add 1 cup of milk and enough more flour to make a stiff batter. Pat out on floured board, cut, and bake in a very hot oven.
